- כֶּסֶךְ, כַּסְכַּסm. (transpos. of סכסך q. v.; cmp. גַּעְגֵּעַ), pl. כְּסָבִים, כַּסְכַּסִּים leather thongs for crosswise fastening (cmp. b. h. שָׂרַךְ a. שְׂרוֹךְ נַעַל). Sabb.138b הגוד בכְסָכָיו Ar. (Ms. O. בכַסְכַּסָּיו; ed. בכיסנא, read: בכיסכא; Ms. M. חגור בנסבא, read: הגוד בכסכא, v. Rabb. D. S. a. l.) it is permitted to stretch the milk (or wine) bag by its thongs, v. גּוֹד. Ib. 139b בכילה ובכְסָכֶיהָ Ar. (ed. ובכַסְכַּסֶּיהָ) wrapt in a bed-curtain with the thongs attached.
